HeartSerene and Invincible
Life -  What or who we are

How did we come here?    Where did we come from?    Are we here for a purpose?    How do we function best while we are here?   Where
do we go when we eventually leave here?   Do we leave here at all?  Apart from physical appearance and dimensions, are we more or less
capable and admirable than every other being or plant on Earth?     These are the questions that set me thinking when I was eleven years old
and have been occupying my thoughts all these 70 years since.

My schooling, my earnings potential, my responsibilities, all took secondary place in my dreaming.   It was a form of dreaming, of projecting
myself into the unknown and the seemingly impossible.  In my responsibilities and obligations as a son, a brother, a husband, a father, even
a grandfather and friend I have been a disappointment.  That I still have their love and care is amazing.

How did we come here?    Physically - via a pure biological process, no less, no more and spiritually - through a magnetic impulse generated
at conception,  the whole heading a new branch off the ancestral tree.  As with the chicken and the egg, the egg is primary and constitutes
the beginning of a new branch of that species.

Where did we come from?   It was thought that the spirit was a transfer from another body that had lost its ability to survive.  But it cannot
be rebirth because the body is a product of parents different from the  two who parented the previous body.  Reincarnation, the resurrection
of the priginal body is also impossible because the spirit cannot resurrect that body from its disintegration.  Other schools of thought
attribute it to genes coming piggy-back on the tails of comets.

Are we here for a purpose?    In all probability, yes.    To contribute towards the betterment of the Universe.  No one with even minimum
perceptions would think that Nature having designed man's physical systems could not have prepared it for a distinct purpose.  An
imaginative, selfless caring effort to  apply their capabilities towards making all the world heartserene and invincible.

Not to come into the Universe to spend a third of an average lifetime learning how to survive, then another third merely surviving and the
final third winding down into disintegration.  Not to merely exist on Earth, a mere mindless automaton worshipping at shrines of promoted
to be all-seeing, almighty, omnipotent entities that demand unquestioning sacrifice of minds and destinies merely for beatification while the
poor, the helpless, the weak, the babies in the world suffer hunger, mayhem, strife, oppression and misery from earthquakes, tidal waves,
storms and profit-greedy tradesman and politicians.

There are no rules, no promises, merely observations that prompt reexamination and the formulation of your own views and possibly a choice
of objectives.   Every setback, every desire a challenge for the selflessly motivated.

                                   The Mortal Self

We are all, whatever our mode of procreation; microbe, insect, reptile, bird, fish or animal including man, merely compositions of matter.
Each developing through necessary periods of conception and gestation to be born to follow the hereditary instincts of its species and only its
senses to interact with the world until death.

Merely mortal, reacting and responding from birth to death to its changing environment and relative influences.  Subject to a host of natural
forces and elements, ill health, accidental injury and physical debility prone to aches, pains, stiffness, trauma and the consequences of
infection, contagion and the vicissitudes that life may bring.  Growing in size and strength and physical capability to maturity over the initial
third of its lifetime, practicing survival capabilities for a second third and, then declining until death when the body can no longer function
    without artificial support.

Those species endowed with a brain and memory and the physical dexterity to put into practice what the mind directs, appear to polarize at
birth through an interaction of the first breath of air and the chemical composition of their bodies.  Firing up an electronic wave form, a spirit
that establishes the Will, an im-mortal self.

Occupying the hosting brain to direct or guide the mortal self and body throughout the lifetime though in a constant tussle for control
between the mortal self’s instincts and senses and, the mind/will.  Developing self-reasoning capabilities to draw on each one’s unique talents,
aptitudes and characteristics.  Able to develop great mental capacity we know as “will power” with the physical dexterity of the mortal self to
    become a formidable volitional force”.

Following trains of thought and their related progression of events.  Vacating the mortal self when it can no longer sustain itself and, host
and serve the spirit/will.  In accordance with the natural attraction in all earth life including plants to reach out to the Sun, joining it to
become a single dimensional, point of light.  Another Sunbeam.

Note:   All of the above is pure conjecture.  I cannot offer any evidence except simple reasoning to support the above.  There are no certainties,
    only possibilities and probabilities.

About twenty years ago, while I was on a visit to Port-Au-Prince in Haiti, I witnessed a secret voodoo ceremony where they removed
something from a man’s head.  The man did not die but was led away at the end.   Whatever was extracted was inserted into a small wooden
doll and the doll walked by itself.

My companion pointed the man to me the next day and it was my first experience of seeing a Zombie.  He appeared aimless, his eyes were
dull, did not speak and he seemed to have no self-volition at all, more like the cattle on the road.  No one paid the slightest attention to him
and even let him help himself to fruit in stands.  He was just moving around by instinct, only guided by his senses.   What changed him?
    What could he have lost?

Is it possible we are all, tree, plant, bird, fish and mammal, individually compositions of immortal volitional spirits, mortal matter driven by
instinct?   The mortal, subject to accident, disease and internal breakdown to cause anything from a toothache to a tumor?   The result always
from a natural progression of events for good or bad, not ordered by fate, karma or God.
However, can anyone claiming a sense of true responsibility also rest dependent on those nebulous entities called fate, karma and /pr God?   A
convenient excuse for those who shirk responsibility for their actions and the consequences that follow.

                                 The Immortal Self

When my questions stop, pull my plug.  My reason for living is dead.

Man unlike other mortal species appears to be a combination of two distinct selves.  The mortal self and the im-mortal spirit operating as the
Will.   Subject to the pain of hopelessness, the immortal self is dependent upon the health and capacity of the brain.  Unable to fly with its
mortal self like the birds, but able to go in spirit to the far ends of the Universe and time.  Developing a self-volitional capability limitlessly like
a power source to enable the body and mind to function as one during man’s lifetime.

Except for occasional instances in beings other than man, humans have generally demonstrated the greatest evidence of developing that
volitional spirit.   A spirit that creates a mind in each individual that, interacting with the heart raises each above the mortal.    The heart
acting as a softening influence in a mortal protected by its natural instinct interacting positively with a mind, a limitless volitional force that
can grow to soar high and wide to the outer reaches of the Universe.

The Will develops and grows in strength and capability only in accordance with the volitional interests of the individual while operating
through the Senses.   Many never, ever develop their minds too far above their levels of natural instinct.  Going through their lives without
ever questioning what they interact with.   Satisfied with a daily go-nowhere existence in work, a dull and unmindful repetition of the day
before, experiencing no more than years and years of one days’ experience.  Their leisure no more than a repetition of a previous evening’s
    unmindful activities.

Here lies the difference between humans who stay young, live long and mentally active free of Alzheimer’s, while average humans though
active and successful at what they do, end up with Alzheimer’s and life threatening ailments.
The difference is in Brain Exercise known to neurologists as Brain Plasticity.

    1.        Getting in the mood to acquire or learn new mental or physical interests.  Alert and ready for action.  Arming the brain.
    2.        Activating the physical and coordinating the body and mind.
    3.        Exercising all the faculties into mentally developing and positively recording the new,
    4.        Not brining in well practiced and already proficient activities which do not need effort from the brain,
    5.        Selecting and concentrating on the new, the strange, the seemingly impossible to put pressure on the brain,
    6.        Remembering, evaluating and developing new knowledge.  Evaluating data and updating the new.
    7.        Motivating activation, paying attention to the desires and the needs.   Avoiding thoughts and activities that are already known and do
not need brain application as with golf, sewing, etc.

Reading books, playing games, taking exercise, doing things you already know do not exercise your mind.   It is enquiry, questions,
unsatisfied curiosity that makes the brain active, in the mood, motivating thought, research and answers.   That is what reverses mental
aging.   Those who complacently relax as they grow older in the belief that they have earned it.   Doing things they always do, enjoying their
retirement.  They invite deterioration of the brain into Alzheimer’s.

It is the exercise of the immortal spirit through constant enquiry and self-reasoning that raises one above the ordinary.   The world has seen a
host of great minds and talents who have raised civilization from the mud of the agricultural age to open our horizons to the far ends of the
    Universe.

While wills can theoretically go on forever, they are dependent upon the brains of their mortal hosts.   When such host can no longer sustain
the spirit, it must vacate.   It does not transfer to another physical host, although there is evidence of such happenings by spirits operating
outside the softening influences of the heart and, occasionally appearing through little children for a short time.   Never for too long.

The sad truth is that, while the will does greatly direct and determine the life and strengths of the host body and also disciplines food intake,
exercise and care, the body is not immune to unknown, unfathomable and unsuspected viruses and attacks which can affect the body’s ability
to serve the will.   The most exemplary among men can lead a life of selfless and successful activity but end their days in severe ill health.

Spirits appear as magnetic aura surrounding the physical host.    All beings on earth are three dimensional.   A spirit on the point of vacating
a declining host if seen at departure, resulting from an unresolved event, would be two dimensional; just height and width where the aura
possibly turns into an ectoplasmic state.   A clear departure of the spirit would be to join the Sun’s spectrum as a single dimensional point of
    light, a Sunbeam.

A self-disciplined immortal self that overcomes the affect of crutches and millstones, can resist reacting to unwelcome events and prevent the
mortal self from being adversely affected.   It is however a lack of self-discipline and a preoccupation with more appealing activities by the
immortal self that leaves the mortal self open to dangerous influences.

The immortal self is im-mortal only because it is not matter but pure energy and survives the demise of the mortal self.   Acting in accordance
with its train of thought, the mind/spirit or immortal self is prone in weak humans to keep switching its focus from one desire to another,
unable to follow through with one.

Try this exercise.  If the year ahead would be the last in your life, what would be important, essential and available for you to live a comfortable,
care-free life and follow your inclinations at will?
