Way we mature

                                                                             The Way Our Bodies Go

Sex education must be approached in an original way.    A great part of the mystery and the
excitement about sex is propagated by hush hush treatment and the embarrassment shown by adults while discussing it. Current practices
    do more harm than good.

Recognition of the human body, its difference between those of males and females and, the changes that bring height, weight and changes in
various parts of the bodies, different for females from what takes place in male children.   A respectful but matter-of-fact approach like any
other subject to take away the mystery of body changes.  Making sex a natural function for people as they grow older like losing their hair off
    the top of their heads.

How boring life would be if we were all alike, thought alike and did everything the same way? We are so fortunate that there at least two
kinds of people.   Females who are cuddly and soft and pretty and emotional and kind like our mothers.    Males who are strong and big and
protective like our fathers.  We all want to grow up to be like them.   To have little ones of our own who will feel about us as we do about
our fathers and mothers.   How do we make sure that happens?   By recognizing ourselves, how we think about ourselves, how we feel
about others, the respect we have for each other and to show everyone how to take care of those weaker than us.

With respect, there is no conflict, no reason for argument, no reason to hurt another and no reason to feel upset with others when they do
not agree with us.  With respect, we have no expectations, no demands of others, nothing to make us angry with each other.   Mutual respect
encourages us all to like each other, to be considerate and to help others when they are in need because we become a part of each other.  In
Japan, most people, even in the same family, bow to each other in normal interaction.

Brothers naturally adopt their role as respectful, physical caretakers of their sisters, mothers and other females and, the girls as respectful,
emotional caretakers of their brothers..   We love it.  It makes us care about each other and we enjoy that feeling of mutual caring.

                                                                                  An old ritual

Not too long ago in some Asian cultures, it was the custom to lock young girls away from the sight of males when they attained
puberty.  Then, to be brought out like debutants, and presented as women ready to be wooed and won at public receptions where
mothers of eligible bachelors and relatives came with gifts to help build dowries.

Probably beginning at a time when most life was in small villages where all the children played together and no one showed any
difference between boys and girls.  It was designed to change the males’ view of recent tomboys from playmate to damsel and create
    respect for the young girls.

Males remain little boys whether tihey are 6 yrs. or 60., while women are born mothers and remain as such all their lives.  Males enjoy
competitive sports because they are taught to try and win, not enjoy the play. Both males and female children who develop in
households where competition and aggression are discouraged, become very considerate, selfless and giving.

At 5 yrs. we are just beginning to recognize the fantastic capabilities of our bodies. When we look at older people, we see them in all
kinds of shapes and sizes. They did not want to be like that. They all wanted to remain strong and good-looking. Why did they become
    so different?

Because they were careless and did not take care of their bodies.    Our bodies are like our cars.   If we put in the wrong fuel, if we drive
over the wrong kind of roads, if do not put in water to keep them running cool, if we fail to put in oil to make then ran smoothly, they
will not be able to serve us.  It is the same with our bodies.

When we forget to brush our teeth and hair, bathe regularly and eat nourishing food, we are liable to lose them. We have other parts in
our bodies and they all need equal care. Our kidneys purify our systems and if they fail we can become very ill. If we fail to move our
bowels and keep all our body parts clean, we will be very sorry indeed.

Many changes will take place in our bodies as we grow older and bigger and there is no reason for us to be ashamed to have those
changes noticed.  Boys will start growing hair on their faces and on their chests while their voices change too.   The girls will find their
bodies growing softer and one day their wombs will begin to function and they will pass blood as a consequence.  We have nothing we
must hide and those changes are merely evidence that we are growing into mature men and women well and able to function as fathers
and mothers to other little girls and boys like us.

Sex is not a bad word and has no bad meaning. The badness is in the ignorance of those who cannot talk about it openly and freely, as if
there was something ugly in it.   Sex is not ugly.  It is the culmination of th« love that two people feel for and about each other.  It is the
outcome of that love and respect for each other when new babies are created for future mothers to carry for nine months while the baby
grows strong and beautiful to be borne as we did.

That is what we need to respect.  The wonderful and natural way a baby is created and born into this world.   With all our advances in
technology, there is nothing to match that.   We have to be proud that we can do it. Proud that we have that power to create a new life
and respect each other and the functions that bring it about.

Respect and affection are the two most natural and finest of refinements in our makeup.  Study the more intelligent among the animal
world, the sea and the air.   Observe how they respect each other's space, give way to each other and live without the kind of competitive
aggression, suspicion and conflict we human beings have adopted into our lives.   Touching which those with atrophied feelings are
uncomfortable with, is a true and natural form of conveying sincere spontaneous affection by one man or beast to another.
Some families have become so inhibited in their natural feelings they have schooled themselves to be suspicious of every natural action
around them, more willing to understand and even accept acts of aggression or conflict because that is the way they have learned to be.
Teenagers from such families have no refinements of interactive feelings to inherit.

These teenagers devoid of natural feelings and respect for those around them, are the young adults most likely to infringe upon another's
space and person. This is very evident in the West where children have now begun to forcibly demonstrate that aggression and lack of
    respect for their fellow beings.

Perhaps it is also because some, like in the West will unhesitatingly bare their all except their true inner feelings.   Everything the young
see as they grow up is commonplace and not deserving of respect.   No one bothers to sit with them and open the way for them to
    express themselves as they feel.

Love alone is not enough. There must be respect, not just for the other but for oneself first.   Those who respect themselves can never
hurt or take advantage of another.   All too often, peer pressure and physical attraction induces bovs and girls to get close. To
experiment and then find that they cannot contain their rising passion. Girls who respect themselves will stop it right there and boys
who respect themselves and the girls will not force the issue.    It is those others who have no respect for themselves who cause all the
    harm.

We will continue to grow, but soon our bodies will not grow stronger but begin to grow weaker because the elements that make us who
we are, have stopped renewing their strength and have started to draw on our reserves.  Gradually, we will fail to develop the natural
materials in our bodies that feed and maintain our hair our skin, our muscles and our tendons.

Gradually the hair on our heads will feal out, our skin will become less resilient and begin to wrinkle, our ability to do the things we did
before will begin to slow down. Finally, until death takes us into the energy spectrum as free Sunbeams, we will become like little babies
again, shrinking instead of growing bigger.   Shrinking in mind and body, a physical shell of what we were.

There are ways to hold back the ravages of time with exercise, food or drugs, but they can only hold it back for as long as those inputs
remain and can only work on the body. A degenerating body cannot long fight itself.   The only thing we have to sustain our strengths
and hold back father time from wreaking its havoc is the "mind".   The "mind" remains free of the body and can exercise its power over
    the body's weakness.

An active mind, chasing tomorrow instead of looking back on yesterday.  Ignoring the physical deconditioning that is working on the
body, going on with plans that must be brought to fruition, refusing tc succumb to deficiencies can overcome the deterioration allowing
us to live our lives out with all flags flying. Setting the power of the mind over the matter.
I wish someone, better able to rewrite this, will try to propound this idea better and more forcefully and forward it to me to replace what
I have tried to present.  Thank you

                         Responsibility

Responsibility is described as something taken, given, said or done in response or reaction, a quality, condition, an obligation, an
accountability or dependability, a duty that can be charged to a cause, agent or source believed able to distinguish between right and
wrong.  Expected to think and act rationally and reliably, hence accountable for its actions.   Applies to one who has assumed, been
delegated or upheld as an authority that is accountable for any failure to respond rationally and justifiably.

We are asked to behave rationally and responsibly to care for the weak, the maimed and the troubled, while millions of intelligent, well
educated, high positioned humans the world over, and put their faith in an entity that has failed to act responsibly or even kindly.  The
claim that mayhem and calamities are dispensed to teach a lesson to little babies, the very old, the suffering, and the mentally unbalanced
among others, is unacceptable to me.

Anyone who understands the meaning of responsibility cannot support the existence of an all-seeing, omnipotent almighty that fails to
correct but dispassionately watches new born babies suffer, soldiers die in conflict and, the poor in the world suffer and die in hunger,
    disease and strife. .

A nebulous entity, an unseen force, intangible, without form or frame, a creation of weak ideologies to rule as a fearsome, all-seeing,
omnipotent authority or a form of destiny known as Fate or Karma. .  Dispensing happy or hellish hereafters while ignoring the plight
of the weak, the consequences of famine, pestilence, incurable birth defects and disease, injury and burning through conflict or sudden
    accident.

Responsibility is based on dependability and the sincere view that what one promises is assured, reasonable and will be delivered.
Responsibility ensures that every view is true, reasonable and dependable and, every act non-pretentious and harmless to others.

It is not the unquestioning, unreasoning belief in a super natural force, whether Fate, Karma or a God that is at issue.  The fault lies
with the multitudes made weak by the precepts of ideologies, inculcated from childhood to shirk their own responsibility and
complacently accept the consequences of a tragic circumstance as the will of an irresponsible imaginary force.

There is absolutely no basis to believe in reincarnation or rebirth of a spirit carrying forward a retributive debit and credit of punishment
or reward from one mortal body to a new body used by a transiting spirit.   A Karmic imposition of ill health or ill fortune and pain on
new bodies innocent of fault, serving a transiting spirit.  The questionable factor in that belief is that though it is the spirit that directs
and is responsible for the wrong, it is a new mortal body that suffers the punishment and the pain for the spirit’s past misdeeds.

We must take responsibility for what happens in our lives.  Good or bad, we will reap what we sow in this life.  There can be no
continuance in nature.  Everything that happens, good or bad results from a natural progression of events through our current lives...
Whatever we experience during the course of our lives seems to be patterned by a progression of events set in motion by each of us
sometime in our current lives’ past.

I question therefore the wide belief in rebirth or reincarnation.   There is absolutely no evidence to support that, except in convenient
religious conjecture.   Nature is purely and strictly logical.   It is illogical in nature for a subject to be born into this world to spend the
first third of its life learning how to survive, spending the next third in working and establishing its self.   Winding down during the
final third of its life to die and be born gain to repeat that cycle.

How do mediums and those who use them, reconcile the idea of reincarnation with their professed ability to communicate through and
with those who have passed on.  How can they continue to do it for years if rebirth does take place?   Which then are the spirits that
return to go through another life cycle with debits and credits attributed to actions in past lives?   Is this concept of reincarnation
confined to humans or is it applicable to all life on earth including microbes?    Does it mean that the dwindling species of birds and
animals are being born again as humans?

The concept of karma as a retributive force is also questionable.   It is more likely that we reap what we sow during this lifetime.   On
careful consideration I have found that most of what I have suffered or enjoyed, were generally a progression from my own actions in
the past where I did or did not do something right.  What I suffered was not punishment nor was what I enjoyed reward.  Merely a
progression of events that went from one related action or event to another.

If we apply the principle of self-responsibility to rebirth, reincarnation, karma and fate, they become unacceptable.   Self-responsibility
does not allow for such negatives.  All evidence points to the probability that we consciously or unconsciously determine the course of
our lives and their impact on the lives of others around us.   It is a serious responsibility and one we should not take lightly.   Life in the
mortal self can end suddenly by accident or through a long drawn out illness from a failure to curtail excesses and correct deficiencies.
Unfortunately, the immortal self then loses its host vehicle and has little choice but to find sanctuary within the Sun’s spectrum.

I had the privilege of knowing a real gentleman.   He gave up schooling quite early to go to work and help his parents educate his
younger brothers and sisters who all achieved high positions in life.  He rose to head his department, played cricket and tennis and was a
devout Buddhist.    No one ever heard him utter a harsh word, practice anything to excess nor do anything to hurt or harm another.

Throughout his life he consistently helped others wherever he could.  All his children attained admirable positions in life.  Yet, he
suffered a massive stroke and lived paralyzed during the last three years of his life.    Obviously the progression of events that led to his
stroke had to have begun and develop through the deterioration of some or other of his physical organs, totally beyond the control of
his immortal self, just as he would have contracted any other illness or physical deficiency starting with the common cold.

The know-alls attributed his affliction to Karma, a retributive factor or past debt coming from a previous existence.   It is a very
convenient conclusion for the unthinking.   Not realizing that the actions we take good or bad are done by the direction of our immortal
selves, the mortal self merely the instrument.   It makes no sense for nature, always fair and logical to invoke retributive punishment on
a new mortal body for acts carried out by an unrelated body which existed in the past.

The mind/spirit has no physical memory nor knowledge processing capability and must depend on its hosting brain for them.
Following its train of thought, the mind/spirit continues to raise its level of perception.  Developing levels of reasoning power to
determine and carry out direction of its host body to quantum levels.   Vacating the host body when it can no longer survive and
function in it, leaving with the last thought to join the Sun’s spectrum.

Since it cannot function as a point of light only motivated by its last thought, the new entity must seek minds receptive to its perceptive
powers to work through.  As a Sunbeam, strengthening those minds and perhaps even giving guidance.
Conflicting information offered by mediums does not really answer what goes on in the realms of the hereafter.   The world’s accelerating
progress however supports the probability of some participation and support for us as we go through life from or through those who
have gone on to join the Sun’s spectrum, like guardian angels.

I would like to believe that all that perception of great thinkers has not gone into oblivion but has been participating in the acceleration
of the world’s progress.   That would be consistent with my expectations in relation to the natural order.
There is also absolutely no positive evidence to support the theory that there is a hell nor a law of fate, karma or rebirth to impose
retributive punishment for past excesses.  There is no doubt that there are vibrations in the Universe that result in “influences” we have
yet to fathom.  Whatever is true, our real concern should be how we can function best, how we can meet our needs and responsibilities
and what we can each do to make living easier for all, while we are here.

I call your attention to all fauna and flora including us humans.   Notice our need for the Sun’s rays and warmth, the way plants turn
their faces to and follow the Sun?   I like to think that with our obvious need for the Sun, when our earth-bound forms can no longer
serve our spirits, we will soar out into the Sun’s spectrum.  Would it not be nice to become Sunbeams and be able to keep in touch with
those we love and must leave behind?

Free and intensive points of light, continuing to participate in the thoughts and activities of earthlings.  Stimulating and perhaps also
guiding us to seek the betterment of the Universe.

Someday in the future, when I have moved on, if one day a Sunbeam envelopes you in its warmth, do say “Hi”, it may be me.  There are
more things in this world around us than we have yet fathomed or even experienced.   Being human gives us the ability to project
ourselves in spirit to the outer reaches of the Universe and its mysteries.   No other being in our World is known to have that
    capability.

I do believe that Sunbeams are our connection with the Universe and those who have gone before us are always available to help us
when we need them.  This is similar to the faith requirement in ideologies but needs no more than quiet communing.

Only the ignorant and unthinking fear the unknown and sit back to unmindfully slide into vegetable like existence.  Our humdrum lives
can be enriched and our mental capabilities and capacities enriched by opening our minds to the new, the strange and especially the
seemingly impossible.  Extending our lives, our activities and the strength of our participation in the world.

The Founder of this website is a living example over the past 16 years of what this is about.  Though 81 in years, going on 55 years in
looks, in activity and in health, firmly believing that when his questioning stops he will join the Sun’s energy spectrum, to be another
Sunbeam able to care for the helpless, to warm hearts, stimulate minds and contribute to the exciting times ahead in this fast progressing
    world.

The natural senses we activate at birth are very probably many more than the five we customarily develop and use in our daily lives.
ESP, levitation, proximity, thought transference, aura recognition, time travel, etc. are all naturally among our unique qualities.  But
generally remaining undeveloped until we lose one of the five senses we use.   There are a comparatively small number of people who
    have.

Mankind has for many centuries believed that he is weak and incapable of standing up for himself, willingly bowing to ephemeral,
omnipotent sources to fall back on at times of stress and doubt.   In the past, it was a lack of education, knowledge and reasoning
capabilities which made man prone to exploitation by proponents of ideologies.

Ideologies, both religious and political are parasitic by nature as they cannot exist without the support of the blindly trusting.  To
believe unquestioningly in faiths that promise better tomorrows and heavenly hereafters guaranteed for the faithful, though for centuries
that blind faith has not been answered.   Yet, believers are so deeply weakened; they cannot, will not and dare not break that submission.

Out of the ordinary events have occurred and, used to give credence to the existence of an omnipotent being.   How does one accept an
entity described as almighty, all seeing and omnipotent when he or she cruelly watches while little children suffer famine, ill health,
deformity and violation?   It stands to reason that such an almighty entity should naturally give that needed relief or ensure that such
conditions do not arise.   When clergy profess to bless combatants on both sides of a war or dispute, which side gets favored?

I observe devotees who go to great lengths and even into debt to pay homage to religion.  The promise of collection boxes in churches
and temples, especially at entrances to bridges and trunk roads are also questionable.   Though many suspect, even believe that their
contribution does not guarantee them safety; they never fail to give because they dare not stop.

Unless a man is without even average intelligence, he must realize that any omnipotent force professing to be all-seeing and almighty has
no excuse for allowing the poor and innocent to suffer war, conflict, mayhem and the consequences that follow.    The entire world over,
it is the poorest and least developed areas that suffer the greatest disease, famine, terrorism and oppression.   Yet, highly educated, highly
reasoning persons continue to adhere to religion and the promises that never come true.

There is no ideology which has offered the poor and ailing facilities to secure true freedom and happiness. Only promises, never delivered
but demanding blind faith, the fear of the hereafter, ritual and unquestioning regimentation
The Buddha and Jesus Christ were great thinkers and it is highly questionable whether the assertions demanding blind faith and
attributed to them were in fact theirs.   Their observations were carried in the minds of disciples for a long time before they were written
down.  Who can truthfully declare that they were not added by disciples to win the attention and subservience of the gullible and
    weak?

Gautama Buddha and Jesus Christ were also totally selfless and advocated non-violence.  In later history several others like Abraham
Lincoln, Mahatma Ghandi and Martin Luther King followed the same line of thought to change the world for the oppressed.

Curiosity, fear and need are probably the primary motivators in all beings.  Triggering every change and development in our Universe
and, the way we have functioned throughout our evolutionary history.  They lead to the expansion of our minds and the enlarging of
our vision and interests beyond the limitations of our self-imposed materialistic existence.

We can look away from those who are driven to compare themselves with others.  They only look for what they like to see as deficiencies
when compared with them.  Never realizing that each and everyone is unique in his or her own right, that comparison only results in
false assumptions of inferiority or superiority

The society we live in has adopted a code of conduct to dictate our outlook and behavior.  It is a self-protective measure to ensure that we
all conform to a common form of decency and care.  The fault with that code is that it discourages individual thought, questioning and
    conclusion.

The average person becomes easily disturbed by the unfamiliar, the unusual, the out-of-the-ordinary because he or she does not know
how to react or respond to the strange, the new, the seemingly daunting.   Remember how long society took to tolerate divorces, to
homosexuality, even to skin-heads?  Given time society will accept anything, even bad government and rising prices.  The deficiency is in
those who hide behind social “norms”, not those who choose the freedom to move in any direction they elect.

No one will turn to you by luck or chance.   You have to attract them to beat a path to your door to satisfy a need.  There are two main
kinds of attraction that apply here.  The first is immediate satisfaction of a need.  The second, more profound is a long term effect which
promises to correct a deficiency.  Ideologies operate on this principle.  Promising better tomorrows and heavenly hereafters, even though
they are never really expected to be delivered.

We are conditioned to think of our futures filled with impressive opportunities, people we want to consort with and, to be surrounded
by out-of-the-ordinary possessions we desire.  Not just keeping up with the Joneses but doing better than them.  Especially the
competitive acquisition and accumulation of power, position, prestige, profit and possessions which is the universal past time of the
weak and pretentious who are dependent on projected images of exterior affluence.

We habitually project false self-images and live unstable life styles to impress a world that really does not care.  Unwittingly trapped in
overpowering “tiger’s tails” of competitive, pretentious aspirations.  Expecting benefits, large and powerful and attractive that still
require constant propping up, with dependence on others.

You need to look beyond what is presented before you.  You need to be perceptive, read between the lines, and listen to the silence
between thoughts.  The bad is what we do inconsiderately and irresponsibly that results in hurt or harm to another.  Everything we do
while interacting with others that is not selflessly motivated is self-centered and for good or bad, affects only us.  Humor is always
healing and at no time is it inappropriate for too long.  Life is to be enjoyed, never suffered or tolerated.  Unhappiness is just a temporary
feeling of self-centered loss at being left behind.

More power, position, prestige, profit and wealth than you can use makes you dependent upon those who make it possible for you to
acquire, accumulate and maintain those powers.  You are also dependent upon those over whom you want to wield those strengths.
Any strength is worthless if there is nothing to use it on.   If you have to ask “How Much?   You are dependent.  If you hesitate to do
whatever you wish, you are not free.

Work is what one has to do to earn and pay your bills, and work is what one looks forward to retire from.  Play is the natural
enjoyment of an activity which gives you pleasure because it relates to your natural medium of self-expression.   Play can also be a
second income source and one which you never retire from because it keeps you young.

It really matters little whether we are born into this world for a deeper reason than the ultimate result of a physical relationship.
Whatever that reason our main objective is to be happy.  Free to be who we really are internally.   To secure the ability to enjoy our stay
    in this world.

Life is to be lived, not in half measures, not in dependence, not in misery, not under obligation to others, not leaning on ideologies, short
sighted mentors or outworn beliefs, superstitions and guidance books.  Not held down by "millstone" like addictions, attachments,
attractions, aspirations, prejudices and the ghosts of the past but totally free in mind, body and spirit.
Happiness does not depend on a reason for living, whether in direction or in purpose, especially not from obligations we feel we must
fulfill, duties we feel we must perform.   Happiness is freedom in mind, body and spirit.  If there are reasons why we are born into this
    world, they are secondary.

Our main objective is to be happy and to help make others happy too.   To be happy with ourselves, happy in our interests, happy with
our environment and everyone else in it.   Nurturing a positive sense of self-security with the freedom to develop our individual
capability to follow our inclinations as we will, without hurting or inconveniencing others   Acquiring confidence in our strengths, our
talents, our natural aptitudes, our personal attributes and characteristics that assure us our good health, a positive outlook, financial
well-being and sincere goodwill between all around us.  <
